After 10 years of providing our transportation services, as you might imagine, we’ve compiled quite a few of these frequently asked questions. Even after organizing this page by breaking them down into categories as we have above, we found that putting them all on this page was becoming “cumbersome,” to say the least. So, be aware that after a few questions on this page, you’ll find a link to another page for ALL of our FAQs in that category. It is our hope that you’ll find the extra “tap” or “click” worth it!

What is AffordARide and what types of services do you offer?

AffordARide is a locally-owned transportation company offering affordable, personalized ride services throughout the DFW Metroplex and beyond.  We provide many types of car services, pet taxi services, delivery services, and an errand service – all at competitive rates with no surge pricing!

Are your drivers licensed and insured?

In a word, yes.

All AffordARide drivers are fully licensed, insured, and background-checked.  Further, all drivers are clean-cut and well-groomed, speak English as well as you do, and have advanced training in both customer service and emergency driving!  We prioritize safety, professionalism, and courtesy to ensure a top-tier experience for every rider!

How do I get a quote or make a reservation?

AffordARide operates 24/7 based on driver availability.

To guarantee service — especially during holidays, major events, or peak hours — we recommend booking your AffordARide reservation at least 3–5 days in advance.

Booking & Availability

How far in advance should I book my ride?

For maximum possibility of availability, we recommend booking your AffordARide reservation at least 3–5 days in advance, even further out during holidays, major events, or peak travel periods. That said, we do accept last-minute reservation requests when possible!

Can I schedule recurring rides?

Absolutely, provided we have an available driver during the times you request. We offer recurring ride options for customers who need regular transportation whether it’s to work, school, medical appointments, or anything else. Just let us know the schedule, and we’ll take care of the rest!

What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Plans change. We get it. If you need to cancel or reschedule your ride, please give us as much notice as possible. There’s no charge for changes made at least 48 hours in advance. Cancellations within 24 hours may be subject to a fee, depending on the service type and driver availability.

What airports do you serve?

AffordARide serves both DFW International Airport and Dallas Love Field.  We also provide long-distance airport transportation to and from other airports across Texas and even out of state, depending on availability.  In fact, we’ve taken people as far as Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Oklahoma City, Little Rock, and Shreveport!

Do I need to provide flight details when booking?

Yes, we do ask for flight information whenever possible.  This allows us to track your flight in real time so that your driver can adjust in the event your flight is early or delayed.  We want to be ready when you are — not before or after!

Will your driver meet me at the terminal?

We normally meet you outside the terminal in the designated passenger pickup area, and we always confirm exact pickup details with you before your flight.  However, we do offer a special Meet & Greet Service if you’d like your driver to meet you inside the terminal and assist with your bags.  Just let us know!

Car Services FAQs

Do you offer long-distance transportation?

Yes. AffordARide actually specializes in long-distance car services (“Road Trip!”), and not just around DFW, but throughout Texas and beyond! We’ve taken clients to Houston, Austin, Shreveport, Oklahoma City, and even out of state (our farthest ride was from Dallas to Columbia, MO)! Whether it’s for medical travel, relocation, or just avoiding a stressful drive (or FLIGHT or BUS RIDE), we’ve got you covered!

Can I hire a driver by the hour?

Yes. Our personal driver service lets you book a clean, professional driver by the hour — with or without multiple stops. It’s ideal for special events, client pickups, or when you simply need someone on standby. A minimum number of hours will be required depending on where the service will start and end.

Do you allow multiple stops along the route?

Absolutely! As far as we’re concerned, once you engage our services, whether you need to swing by the pharmacy, pick up dry cleaning, or stop at multiple locations throughout the day, we can accommodate your route! Just let us know in advance so we can schedule your driver accordingly.

What kinds of animals do you transport?

We primarily transport cats and dogs, but we can accommodate other small household pets like rabbits, birds, or possibly even reptiles on a case-by-case basis. If you have a special request, just reach out and we’ll do our best to help.

Can I ride along with my pet?

In most cases, yes — you’re welcome to ride along with your pet as long as there’s room in the vehicle and the trip is scheduled in advance. Just let us know your preference when booking, so we can make the proper arrangements.

Do I need to provide a carrier or leash?

Yes, we require that all animals be leashed or placed in a secure carrier appropriate for their size and species. Exceptions are possible, but rare. Ultimately, we leave this decision to our drivers. This is for both your pet’s safety and the safety of our drivers.

Can you take my pet to the vet or groomer without me?

Yes! Actually, that’s one of our most requested services! We can transport your pet to and from appointments while keeping you updated along the way, including optional photo confirmations upon pickup and drop-off.

Delivery Services

What types of deliveries do you handle?

AffordARide offers a variety of delivery options, including groceries, meals, documents, medical supplies, flowers, and more. We also offer hot shot deliveries and urgent service for time-sensitive needs.

Can you deliver items outside of DFW?

Yes. We actually specialize in long distance deliveries. While most deliveries are local, we do provide long-distance delivery service on a case-by-case basis. Just contact us with the details and we’ll let you know what’s possible.

How fast can you deliver something?

Our delivery speed depends on distance and driver availability. For local deliveries, we can often pick up and drop off within a few hours; sometimes even faster! (For urgent or same-day needs, ask about our hot shot delivery service)!

Can you deliver items from one customer to another?

Yes! If you’re a small business or individual needing to move items between people such as a florist, baker, or mobile vendor, we can help! Many of our customers use AffordARide as an affordable alternative to courier services.

What kinds of errands can you run for me?

AffordARide can handle a wide variety of errands: picking up prescriptions, dropping off mail or packages, returning items to stores, getting groceries, or even grabbing last-minute supplies. If it fits in a car and saves you time, we can probably help!

Can I combine multiple errands into one trip?

Yes! That’s one of the main benefits of using our errand service. Just give us the full list ahead of time and we’ll plan the route to make sure everything gets handled efficiently.

Do I have to be home for the errands to be completed?

Not always. Depending on the nature of the errand, we can complete it without you being present. This is true for pickups, drop-offs, or deliveries. For more sensitive tasks, we’ll coordinate directly with you to ensure everything is handled properly.

Is this service available outside of business hours?

Yes! As long as a driver is available and the places involved in the errand are open, we can handle early morning, evening, or weekend errands. We recommend booking in advance to ensure coverage!

How much do your services cost?

Pricing varies depending on the service type, distance, timing, and any special requirements. For most services, we’ll provide a custom quote once we know the details. There are no hidden fees and no surge pricing — ever.

Do you charge surge pricing like rideshare apps?

Never. One of the biggest differences between AffordARide and typical rideshare services is that our pricing remains consistent — even during holidays, peak hours, or major events.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept most major credit cards, debit cards, and digital payments. In some cases, cash payments can be arranged in advance. All transactions are processed securely, and receipts are always available.

Do I need to pay in advance?

For most services, yes — we require payment or a deposit to confirm your reservation. This ensures that your driver and time slot are fully secured. Recurring or corporate clients may qualify for alternate billing arrangements.

Are your vehicles clean and well-maintained?

Yes. All AffordARide vehicles are inspected regularly, cleaned inside and out, and maintained to high standards for safety, reliability, and comfort. We never send out dirty or poorly maintained vehicles — period.

Are your drivers background-checked?

Absolutely. Every driver undergoes a full background check, driving history review, and in-person screening before ever serving a customer. We only hire clean-cut, courteous, and responsible professionals.

Do you accommodate riders with disabilities?

We make every effort to accommodate riders with mobility challenges or special needs. While we don’t offer wheelchair-lift vans, our drivers are trained to provide assistance getting in and out of vehicles, and we’ll do everything we can to make the ride as smooth and safe as possible.

Is AffordARide safe for solo riders?

Yes. We take rider safety seriously, especially for solo travelers, seniors, and teens. All rides are tracked, and our drivers are trained in customer care, situational awareness, and emergency protocols. We can also provide real-time updates or confirmations if requested.
